A Magic Pair of 7s.

Yesterday as I was zig zagging my way to work via the downtown Minneapolis skyway system I spied the exact pair of 7 Jeans I've had my eye on at various retailers for the last couple months on sale. Sweet!

7s typically set someone back between $150 - $200 depending on the store, style, etc, and I was having a hard time justifying such a purchase. But I was working on it.

I don't buy a lot of new clothes**, let alone jeans, but the jeans I do buy last forever. I still regularly wear a great pair of gray mavi's I bought over four years ago. A new pair of 7s would definitely get their use and would be so great to have.

But the money. While I do just fine and have enough left over each month to do whatever with, it is hard to part with $150 for one pair of jeans, especially when I favor skirts and dresses most of the time. I thought I might use some of my tax money (though already earmarked for something else), or put it on my credit card (even though I would still ultimately pay for them) or I'd use the nice sum of money my dad & stepmom gave me for the holidays. I never did decide and the jeans disappeared from the store, replaced with other styles.

SIGH.

Then yesterday, I walk through Off 5th (Think Filene's Basement for Saks FIfth Avenue) and there they are. I stopped dead in my tracks. I looked for my size & they had it! I looked at the price and they were very much on sale! Hmm, temptation..I attempted some magic math regarding money (I had $10 on me & no debit or credit card) and time (I was due to work in 15 minutes). I could apply for a Saks card and save 10% more...

Well, I did nothing of the like. I took a deep breath and decided that if I was still thinking of them in the morning I would stop by after the gym and make the purchase.

Well, I was thinking about them when I woke up, and all through my pilates class and as parked the subaru in the ramp adjacent to the store. I was thinking about them as I walked through Gaviidae Common toward Off Fifth. They had me.

So I walked in, tried them on and they fit like a glove so I bought them.

I ended up going the holiday money route and I absolutely paid less than $150!

xoxx

**new as in never worn before. I purchase plenty of clothing on a regular basis at vintage shops (such as rewind) and thrift stores.

  1. Ahhhh... Bargain jeans! I am so excited for you! What a great find. Wear them in good health and enjoy (as my mom used to say). I am sure you will have them for a long time since "premium" denim like that is so well made. I've never found a pair of 7s that fit quite right, but I have a pair of AG jeans and pine after a pair of Hudsons. Now that most of the baby weight is off I might be able to justify spending up on a pair, but on sale, of course!
